As part of Oracles commitment to improving your support experience, we are announcing enhanced priority handling available to all Oracle Database customers. Benefit from faster problem resolution by simply and automatically attaching a configuration to your service request. My Oracle Support embeds automated configuration management capabilities into the support workflows to deliver faster resolution times. By linking a configuration to your service request, Oracle can better leverage its knowledge base to solve your problem quickly and more effectively. Take advantage of this exciting new service. Download the Oracle Configuration Manager collector and attach a configuration to your service request via My Oracle Support.
06.08.2009 : Classic MetaLink Set to Retire!
Oracle recently announced that later this year Classic MetaLink will retire and My Oracle Support will be upgraded and become the single support interface. Be prepared for the upcoming changes and review the Classic MetaLink and My Oracle Support Transition Information Page for the latest information on timeline, significant changes, benefits, training, communcations and FAQs.
Oracle Global Customer Support is pleased to announce that in the coming months, My Oracle Support will be upgraded to enable even more Oracle customers to use Oracle's next-generation support platform, and Classic MetaLink will be retired. My Oracle Support is part of our ongoing commitment to help you increase the business value of your Oracle investment, reduce total cost of ownership and minimize risk. Leveraging the personalized, proactive, and collaborative support capabilities of My Oracle Support helps reduce the time you spend maintaining Oracle solutions. After the retirement of Classic MetaLink, My Oracle Support will provide a seamless support experience by becoming the single support portal for all of your Oracle Products, including Oracle, BEA, On Demand, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Siebel. Users accessing metalink.oracle.com will no longer have a login option to choose between Classic MetaLink and My Oracle Support, but will be automatically directed to My Oracle Support. The retirement of Classic MetaLink is necessary as we upgrade our backend systems. These changes will affect your Service Request (SR) history and SR numbers. Take action now and prepare for the upcoming changes. Begin Using My Oracle Support Today Users who currently access metalink.oracle.com can prepare for the retirement of Classic MetaLink by using the existing version of My Oracle Support now. All products on Classic MetaLink are supported in My Oracle Support. Select the "My Oracle Support" button when logging in. 30.09.2008 : Database 9.2 Extended Support Fee Waiver Expired on July 31 2008
Første års gratis Database 9.2 Extended Support udløb 1. august 2008.
Supporten på Oracle9i Database Release 9.2 skiftede til Extended Support den 1. august 2007. Dog med det første års gratis for alle kunder på 9.2 platformen. Pr. 1. august 2008 skal der tegnes en Extended Support kontrakt, for at man fortsat kan få bug fixes og Critical Patch Updates (CPUs). Dette koster 20% ekstra i forhold til nuværende support omkostninger. De kunder der ikke tegner denne Extended Support, vil dog stadig have adgang til Sustaining Support. 05.03.2008 : JInitiator 1.3 To Be Desupported for Apps 11i
Note 552692.1 - Obsolescence notice for JInitiator 1.3 for E-Business Suite 11i As of July 31, 2009 Error Correction Support for JInitiator 1.3 will end.
In other words, the Oracle Forms group will no longer issue bug fixes via new versions of JInitiator 1.3.x as of July 31, 2009.
You need to upgrade to the native Sun Java plug-in, as this extract from note 552692.1 describes. All E-Business Suite customers using Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.x need to upgrade to the Sun JRE (Native Plug-in).
Oracle highly recommends that EBS customers upgrade to the latest certified version of the Sun plug-in by following Metalink document 290807.1 "Upgrading Sun JRE(Native Plug-in) with Oracle Applications 11i.
